The Vintage Motor Cycle Club of Great Britain (VMCC) will mark its 80th anniversary in 2026, celebrating eight decades of preserving, riding and understanding historic motorcycles.

Founded in 1946, the VMCC has grown into one of the world’s most respected organisations dedicated to historic motorcycling. Its members ride, maintain and restore motorcycles spanning the earliest days of powered two-wheel transport through to the post-war years, keeping Britain’s mechanical heritage alive on today’s roads.

Throughout 2026, the Club will mark its anniversary with a programme of special events, public open days and commemorative activities, highlighting both the history of the VMCC and the people and machines that continue to define it.

A spokesperson for the VMCC said:  “The Club was founded by enthusiasts who wanted to understand and use old motorcycles, not just admire them. Eighty years on, that principle still guides everything we do. Our anniversary is about the living history of these machines and the people who keep them going.”

VMCC Flagship events across UK

Key highlights of the 80th anniversary year will include flagship events across the UK, a special programme of storytelling and photography celebrating members and their motorcycles, and a renewed focus on welcoming new generations of enthusiasts into historic motorcycling. Details of anniversary events and activities will be announced in due course.
