DESCRIPTION:The Sunbeam Motorcycle Club has organised the Pioneer Run® since 1930\, quickly establishing itself as the premier event for pre-1915 veteran machines. \nThe start has been moved from the 1930 venue at Croydon Aerodrome\, firstly to the railway yard at Tattenham Corner at Epsom Racecourse\, then to Weybridge for 1936 and finally back to Tattenham Corner. \nIn the past the finish has been on Madeira Drive\, Brighton\, but for the past few years it has moved to Brighton City Airport at Shoreham.

DESCRIPTION:A 1955 Vincent Black Knight is one of the star lots in the Charterhouse auction of classic & vintage motorcycles on Thursday 9th October at The Haynes Motor Museum. \n“Made by Vincent\, one of the best British motorcycle manufacturers in the 20th century\, it was sadly one of their last as Vincent lost money on every Black Knight they sold and this ultimately contributed to the factory closing in 1955.” Commented George Beale. \nThis 70 year old Vincent Black Knight Series D is a rare high end motorcycle being just one of some 200 to be produced. Designed to keep the rider from the rain and dirt it featured a fully enclosed body. \nDescribed by Phil Vincent as a “two-wheeled Bentley” this 998cc V twin Vincent is a rare survivor and is estimated at £40\,000-45\,000 at the Charterhouse auction. \nViewing for the auction\, at the Haynes Motor Museum\, is on Wednesday 8th October. Parking is free and well-behaved dogs are welcome. \n​Disabled Visitors can find parking next to the Pedestrian Entrance\, please have your Blue Badge on display as you enter the site\, and the Scouts will direct you. \nAccessible toilets are available. \nThe site is large\, fairly level\, and a mixture of inside and outside grass and hardstanding. \n​General entry tickets are valid from 10am\, last admission 1:30pm\, event closes 3:30pm (subject to weather). \nAdult tickets (from 10am) £7. Accompanied children under 16 are admitted free. \nEarlybird tickets are valid from 8am and cost £10. Please note that some of our stallholders may still be setting up so please be aware of trip hazards and moving vehicles. \nTickets can be bought online or on the morning – pay by cash or card!
