Entries are now open for the 76th Banbury Run, which takes place at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire on Sunday 7 June 2026.

This is the flagship event of the UK’s Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC) and one of the most important dates in the international vintage motorcycling calendar.

The Banbury Run brings together hundreds of pre-1931 motorcycles for a demanding road run through the surrounding countryside — not as a static display, but as machines being used exactly as their makers intended.

First run in 1949, The Banbury Run was created not only as a rewarding experience for riders, but as a public demonstration of the VMCC’s core purpose: the preservation, use and understanding of early motorcycles. That principle remains unchanged.

“The Banbury Run is about riding, not exhibiting,” said Bob Clark, one of the organisers of the event.

“It exists to show that these machines are still alive, still capable, and still being used properly. For many owners, it remains the most important event of the year.”

Rider entries now open

Entries are invited from owners of eligible pre-1931 motorcycles that meet the event’s established criteria. The emphasis remains firmly on authenticity, mechanical sympathy and participation rather than competition.

Demand for places is traditionally high and riders are encouraged to submit entries promptly.

Banbury Run Autojumble bookings

Alongside the Run itself, the Banbury Run Autojumble forms an essential part of the event, attracting specialist traders and enthusiasts from across the UK.

Bookings are now open for autojumble stallholders, with priority given to traders offering appropriate period parts, tools, literature, and services aligned with the event’s character.
